I lost my father last week to cancer. The toughest and most painful thing I have faced in my short time in recovery. With the guidance of my higher power and NA, I have stayed clean through the whole process!!! It works if you work it!!

I lost my father 4 months after I got sober. I was so grateful to be sober so I could be of service to my family. I'm so sorry for your loss. Proud of you for not only staying sober, but talking about it. This is a tough time. :black_heart:

I’m sorry for your lose. I lost my father to cancer when I was just 23. And still at 51 I miss him.

I’m so sorry for your loss.. I lost my momma 5 years ago March 1st.. I relapsed after 14 years.. but I’ve been clean ever since.. my momma had 2 bouts with lung cancer.. it’s hard to go thru the loss of a parent even if you’re not and addict or alcoholic.. but I still go to my meetings.. it’s what gets me thru along with the grace of God.. He’s my strength..

Sorry for your loss. Was sober for my dad's passing in 2021 then went back at it so be careful. Once I joined a sober community in late 2022 I was able to kick it. Take care.
