I’m 1 full year sober from alcohol today!

I’m 1 full year sober from alcohol today!! I was drinking over a liter of vodka a day just absolutely miserable and was to the point where if I didn’t have alcohol in my system every couple of hours I would go through a nasty withdrawal.. I finally got sick of it and admitted myself in the hospital in early September of last year and detoxed for a week and it was so awful. Constant seizures to the point where they had to put me to sleep. Stayed in the hospital for a week and went straight from the hospital to rehab didn’t even come home. I went to Morris Village here in South Carolina. We do recover!! Now I don’t even crave alcohol or even want it in my body. I love never having hangovers and just being sick as a dog from withdrawals everyday. I had a slight relapse when I got out on October 30th when I was out but that was just a days loss not any loss towards progress. I woke up on Halloween a year ago and said enough is enough and haven’t touched it since!

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing. Keep up your good work!

I was confused when you said you had a slight relapse on October 30th. Was that a year ago or just a day ago? What is a slight relapse?

Sorry for not wording that better but I relapsed on October 30th, 2020 and i’ve been sober a year today. I had a couple of drinks and felt my body immediately just craving more and more so I used what the tools I was taught in rehab and just stopped drinking completely

Awesome

Dude ... that totally rocks. I went through a couple rounds of withdrawals ... maybe not as severe as yours ... I managed them from home. But they were rough. I am thankful you got through them and are recovered. And yes ... my cravings are gone. The thought of going through those experiences one more time set me straight. Good job bro.

Congratulations you did a fenominal job and should be proud. Keep it up Best of luck
