I’m 5 years sober, 45 years old, and life is not easy. I’ve got a pinched nerve in my neck that causes a lot of pain and numbness, a painful torn labrum in my right shoulder, my kids exhaust me, and my job is a pain. But what if I was still drinking? What if I was extremely hungover every morning with crazy anxiety? What if I had lost my job because of a DUI? What if I had killed myself or someone else by driving drunk? Life is never going to be easy, but drinking and drugging only make it harder. Thank God I don’t have to live that way any more.
