I’m 6 months sober and went to my first meeting tonight. Grateful for taking this step to recovery.

It was good. I had the realization that I need recovery and not just sobriety to keep moving forward on my journey.

I don't think sobriety can be maintained without the recovery aspect. Without recovery I would venture to say you're simply just not drinking.

I will also say, that in 3 years or 2 or 5, that if i am still sober, illbe goddámned if I refer to myself as "in recovery". At that point, I'm recovered and I'm staying that way. No way in heII am I gonna call insider myself broken forever.

Congratulations!!! I am extremely grateful for meetings and have found sharing my experience, strength and hope and having a network of others extremely beneficial so I hope you find that you consider joining a home group. I know it made a drastic and positive change for me.
