i’m at 56 days about to hit 60 and i’ve never been more unhappy. do you ever start feeling happy again?
Sure did! It’s a mind and lifestyle change. I don’t have the anxiety, fear, sickness, obsessive thoughts … I could go on. The fact is we do create our own happiness. You have to find the joy, no one can give it to you. Just like getting clean, you have to do it for YOU not someone else, not a job, not family. Change and sobriety isn’t easy. The hard is what makes it great.
It takes time but it happens and it’s worth it.
It takes time. Personally, I didn't start feeling happy until I was clean for 5-6 months. I just try to find happiness everyday. Some days I really have to search for it, and others it's effortless.
I'm happy. It took a while, and for me sobriety is just the beginning. Being sober gives me the ability to grow, develop, and experience. So I work to do things that are positive like painting (by numbers for now), work, lifting weights and swimming, etc. I also love my faith and my relationship with my creator. I'm working on baby steps, and slowly climbing the mountain. I'm sorry you're feeling unhappy, and hope that turns around soon.
Yes you will, surround yourself with people who make you laugh.. on here and in life
Through simple acts of Meditation and breathing
You have to let your brain have time to rewrite itself. Don’t let your happiness feed off your situation.
Yes, time is the issue like Keith said
Give it time. It was 6 months for free, my DOC was ice
Serenity prayer i would say it over and over again and I was miserable. Hope u find your answer.
