We're here to support and be supported as well.

Don't place all of your faith in just one thing, one program to get you sober. Use all resources. Also consider your mental health. If you have untreated mental issues, no program is going to fix you.

I'm not participating in any program besides meds and therapy, along with a once a week AA speaker meeting (which I'm finding to be less needed for me) and they were the key to my sobriety.

Don't let anyone tell you that one program is all you need. Explore your reasons for drinking, your triggers, and all other factors that may be an obstacle to your sobriety, and then make a plan to address all of these.

I can relate to a lot of what you're saying. I too am separated or broken up from a woman I was with for 4 years. It's rough. You're doing the right thing. Hope u get well soon

That sounds so hard! So sorry for your loss!! It's so hard, I was sober for quite some time then my mom got sick and she passed away just over a year ago and it nearly killed me... literally. I stopped eating and was drinking and landed in the hospital with v-fib. My heart stopped... needless to say I can totally relate to what you're going through. This site helped me a lot so if you ever want to chat please feel free to reach out. Congratulations on your new apartment

I’m here for you. I can even give you my number. I’d love to expand my clean and sober group. I had to move to an entire different state to get this kind of friendship and to get clean/sober and stay that way. So I totally get it and I’m here with you. I going on 5 months clean. And although we’re a little different on which addictions we have to what it’s all the same in the end. No one is better than the other. We all need to join hands and help each other regardless. Peace love and puppies  oh and pickles…!! Yuuummmn have a great day darlin!!! Remember your mind is a very powerful thing change your mindset and it just might change your Health.:jack_o_lantern:

I’m so sorry for your loss :broken_heart: it is so hard to lose a parent and so easy to spiral. Thank you for your support and openness.

Religion and God are triggers for me. Please respect that.

So sorry for your loss. This is a wonderful community and will help as much as possible. Congratulations on the time you have. Recovery is not easy and the more connections you can make the better go to meetings (zoom is awesome). Just today alone I have already talked to at l at least 4 people in recovery or trying to recover. This is something that you need to do for yourself no one else. I read this app everyday and learn something new everyday. I have made wonderful connections here also. One day at a time is honestly the best way. I haven’t talked to some family because they will not respect my journey and that’s ok now. Most are alcoholics themselves. Anyone that really wants this can definitely achieve it for sure. I am definitely proof of that. I was so physically addicted and now I will be celebrating 23 months soon. Just take it easy stay away from whomever you need to stay away from. Dying from alcoholism is a brutal death, I know because I watched it first hand and I am so happy I am in recovery now.:pray::pray:
