I’m disappointed in myself because I almost threw everything away

I’m disappointed in myself because I almost threw everything away this afternoon. Im mad I put myself in the situation knowing that I shouldn’t have called and gone. I did realize that while I was there that I didn’t belong there. Im mad that I put myself in the situation. I don’t want to let my family down

The most important thing is that you didn’t let you or your family down and now you know better for future reference

Whatever the situation was, your intention wasn't to have all these negative feelings come down on you. You're just trying to navigate your day to day and it's brutal and confusing sometimes. Your inner self disciplinary voice can be mistranslated into guilt. You did GOOD today and you aren't alone in your swirling feelings. :slightly_smiling_face:

Not letting ur family down is definitely good motivation but for myself in the end it wasn't enough speaking for myself sobriety has to be for you it's a selfish thing and if it pleases others than that's a bonus. In my experience.

Br proud of yourself that you were strong enough to overcome the temptation!

Thanks all.. today was a better day for sure.

I have a tendency to just put my head down so I can get thru to the next day and I’m kind of forgetting how bad things were. I realized that yesterday when I was surrounded by people that aren’t my people anymore. My mentality has changed a lot and I’m so focused on the next day that I forget where I’m at today. I keep thinking that if I just get to the next day then the struggle won’t be as bad.

I didn’t use or drink and that in itself is a complete win for me.

You learn from everything.
Mark this as a good learning experience. I know life can be brutal and all but don’t be so hard on yourself. You are trying. Give yourself some grace
