Without help it is too much for us

Yo can do this! Be STRONG!!!:pray::pray:

Alcohol is a great big liar. It ruins your sleep. Your body cannot get restorative sleep while processing alcohol. It’s a vicious cycle.

You got this! Ask God for the courage

It might get you to sleep but you won’t stay asleep and then feel awful when you get up ..

Stay up all night if you have to but only you can decide if it's day 1. Depending on your body chemistry and where your dependence level is at, be prepared for physical as well as psychological initial withdrawal symptoms. Detox is not to be taken lightly. There are AA helplines, online chats and a variety of resources at your disposal. If you can't make it through the night, that's okay as long as you don't back down from your decision and focus all your energy on actualizing your sobriety. I wish you nothing but peace, you can do what others have done!

There’s actual real bonafide remedies you can take to help you fall asleep. Just sayin

Pray and surrender your will, it’s a great feeling

Exercise if you can. Try some breathing exercises. Do all the little things like making sure all electronics are off in the bedroom. If you have a partner maybe have some closeness time.

Warm milk helps you fall asleep too. Reading a good book. Getting enough physical activity in during the day.....so much better than vodka.

Do or do not. There is not try- Yoda. If you tell yourself you not then don’t. Don’t give that crack in your effort of try. This disease looks for those weaknesses

How’s it going Malka?

Checking in too. How goes it tonight?

I struggle bad with this too. Sure there are other options, that obvious. But when you have been reliant on it for so long god or warm milk isn’t going to help. Especially when you hate milk or religion like myself haha Everyday I say the same thing “I’m not gonna drink tonight” and the oops there I go again. Changing your habits take time and there is no quick fix, it takes dedication and practice. I’m willing to connect and check in each night if it’s something your open to it? Currently trying not to drink myself to sleep as well.

Read or listen to Alcohol Explained. No god talk, and incredibly thorough explanation of why you can’t drink yourself to sleep. You can drink yourself to passing out. But that doesn’t provide you with restful sleep.

I’ll check it out! Thank you  I hope I don’t come off sounding rude with this, but I’m fully aware it doesn’t actually help you sleep. I’m exhausted 24/7 and I know drinking plays a big part of that. Due to my mental illness, sometimes I cave and choose passing out just so I can finally have a moment of sleep even if it’s a false sense of sleep. It’s better than nothing sometimes but I’m actively trying to find other methods. I’m also currently undergoing psychiatric treatment to get real help with my sleepless nights (and many other things ) Hopefully getting a diagnosis soon! :crossed_fingers::blush:

I know other things you can drink. Sleepy time Extra
tea with valerian
Melatonin gummies
Trazadone

My favorite insomnia remedy is to listen to an audiobook. Something somewhat interesting so my mind doesn’t wonder. But not overly exciting to keep me awake. I put the volume very low, just so I can still hear it, but barely. And I adjust the playback speed to 0.75%, you’d be amazed on how much that helps to slow your brain down. If I really can’t sleep at least I’m entertained . Sometimes I still sleep like cr*p, but since I stopped drinking I’m still functioning well the next day.

Melatonin works. So does Benadryl or Nyquil.
