I’m grateful for another day and a new experience. I joined a 24hr zoom meeting last night for a few hours. My first meetings. I learned a few things. I can relate to so many people there. Their stories… But, especially the feeling they have experienced that I have too. It truly made me feel less alone. I’m thankful for that.

Good for you. Meeting makers make it. Keep it going.

When I first started coming to meetings all I could focus on were the differences, because I have been living by prison rules, survival mode, my whole life. After giving myself up to the program, to re-program myself, I'm able to see the similarirties first. I still have built in survival mode, but it doesn't rule my actions, for the most part. I have a lifetime of that way of "living" so it will take time to get all of that tension out of my shoulders, but I'm working on it.

Thanks for sharing two sides of the fence. I feel myself definitely becoming more open to various ideas, beliefs, and experiences.

Shelli, I just got done reading your Bio and I really can relate in some ways. Can you recommend any zoom meetings or any meetings online?

I think people try too hard to think that this is all about some supernatural force taking over your body and directing you. They talk of a spiritual awakening like some angel comes down from heaven just for you and all of a sudden you feel some crazy amazing way. It might just be as simple as this: go to some meetings, meet some people who have been through the same sh7t as you, talk about your problems, don't drink/use, talk to the group when things get tough, and then you realize it's working for you, it's no longer feeling like work because you know some people you like and there you go. There is your awakening. Doesn't have to be supernatural or complicated. Maybe it's just that you get to a point and realize that you actually can make a difference in your own life, because you see people, some of them had it worse, some better, than you, and they are making it too.

Yessss! Let me get you the numbers.

292 371 2604 (24 hr AA Marathon Meeting )

359 711 9478 (Midnight Madness Addiction Meeting)

558 544 927 (NA/NA 24/7 Marathon Meeting)

These are 3 I went to last night and this morning. They were pretty helpful!

Also, I found the zoom meetings on nastuff.com. There is a search engine where you can pick what type your looking for. After you search it provides you numbers/links. It’s as easy as clicking on the link and entering. They don’t like you to have your information showing for safety purposes so I removed my last name. Hope this helps!

I’m alive. I had a meltdown last night and this morning. I finally fell asleep at 10am and woke up at 830. Trying to go back to sleep soon cause I have an appointment in the morning. Have a good night.

You have a lot of qualities Shelli possibly the best!
