I am grateful for Lori sharing. I love that you’re gratitude includes your family( father, son, and former partner) and your recovery family. These are indicators of your strength. We are social beings. Sometimes I meditate on the roles of family, friends and vocation. It’s helped me to understand more and if I have a problem in one of these areas I can work on it before it spills over into the other two. If these three areas seem familiar they are. The AA Big Book calls them the three S’s. They are borrowed from Alfred Adler’s concepts of three Life Tasks. If you’re interested in a fuller deeper focus you can Google it for more. I know it’s not sanctioned AA literature but we borrow from everywhere of value and these three are considered anchors to mental health by practitioners almost unanimously.
