I’m having a bad day today.. I feel alone and I’m so emotional.. I have to be out of my apartment by the first and haven’t been able to find another place yet.. I don’t have anywhere to turn except my AA friends but I know they can’t help me with my problems.. I even got stopped today by the police.. but they let me go.. they said I went thru a yellow light.. but I don’t think I did.. but it felt good to know there wasn’t any drugs or alcohol in my car.. been clean and sober 5 years.. all I know to do now is pray..!!

If you managed to get 5 years sober then you have a lot. Talk with your A.A. friends and get to a meeting. If we can talk about it we can live with it.

Sorry to hear you’re having a rough time. From someone who is coming up on 1 year sober 5 years is a tremendous accomplishment! You can do hard things, it will get better.

Do not give up and don't use no matter what. It's always darkest before dawn.
5 years is a tough area statistically, the recovery rate drops off bigtime. Stick hard to your God, group, sponsor, etc. This too shall Pass.

“I know they can’t help me with my problems”? Jan, what you’re facing is not a “problem”. It’s a Life Challenge. For FIVE MIRACULOUS YEARS, you’ve aligned your life with others who are staying clean, and maintained your sobriety, thus staying problem free lil lady. You have options today. And one of those options change your current situation into a victory over your current life challenge. Stand strong. Keep moving towards the solution and don’t give 10 minutes of discomfort the remaining 23 hours and 50 minutes of your day! This too shall pass!
