I’m in a long-term rehab facility, is it normal to be kind of scared to move onto the next step. Because I am literally shaking in my boots!

Totally normal man. As are a lot of new experiences. But theyre also an oppurtunity to experience your new life. As long as you have a solid plan. And have no intenion of deviating from it, you'll do great. Just keep in contact with your sponsor/support and sober friends. When I was getting ready to leave long-term inpatient my sponsor told me to call him if I wanted to use. But not to tell me not to. He wanted me to tell him exactly why I wanted to use and we'de discuss it. If we couldn't solve my issue then he'd promise to pick me up from whatever bar or party I went to after I was done getting messes up. Thankfully he never had to pick me up, but it took alot of pressure off the idea that I couldn't handle whatever pressure I was under. ide

Are you moving out? SLE is the way to go imo

About half my AA group are guys from a sober living house. I hear the same from them often. It’s ok to be scared, you’d be foolish not to at least be concerned. I think the key is to stay as connected as possible, that means finding a group and getting involved. Meet some good people, find a sponsor or person to lean on and live one day at a time

You got this if you want it

I think I have a pretty good plan in place. It is worrisome that I have just been out of society for so long. The few times I have been it almost feels like people are staring at me because I don’t belong. The next step is reintegration so I am hoping to do exactly that. To become a functioning member of society. It has been a long time since I have had a craving, I also have a great network of sober supports that I have built. But again I have been sheltered from “real” life is why I am worried. That is why I am really glad I found this app, I think this could be just one more support to add to the arsenal. I hope anyway!
