Family support can be tricky. My parents and sibs and my kids are very supportive but I find I need to keep them all distanced to a degree from my recovery. Personal choice. Social support network is very important to me. My people. My chosen family vs my family of origin. Many of these folks I met in AA. My point is, fam support in these things ain’t all it’s cracked up to be sometimes. Hang in there.

Welcome man! Best support you'll find is with other alcoholics/addicts. We can truly relate. Most of my friends these days are people I've met at aa meetings. We are uniquely qualified to help other alcoholics and addicts. Check out some meetings in your area and you just might find a new way to live life. Welcome and good luck

At meetings you will find "Your People". The way you can openly share with other addicts and not have them look at you like you're an effed up piece of sh!t is incredibly liberating.
