I have 20 months sober and honestly right now if I was presented with my DOC I wouldn’t hesitate I feel like I was doing so good for so long and now I feel like my world is caving in again I just want one day where I feel OK I can make it like I actually want to be on this planet But right now I don’t. I remember someone in rehab told me that if you feel like using just wait till midnight when midnight comes you wait till midnight and you do that every day until you don’t need to anymore I haven’t had to do that in a very long time tonight I feel very hopeless. So I’m counting to midnight.
That is an interesting strategy … thanks for sharing … wishing you luck
don’t give up the fight …
Hang in there, you can do it!
How are you holding up, Annabelle?
I’m okay. Getting closer to bed time. Thankfully. Thank you for asking
I hope tomorrow is better.
Thank you so much
I hope tomorrow brings all you need to be in a better place.
hang in there. i love that motto.
How are you doing today love? Are things any easier for you? Keep on going. You can do it. Grasp onto things that make you happy besides your DOC. Sometimes it is hard to find that inside of you. Hobbies … do you have any? Anything you wish you could do? I write like crazy. It gets everything out of my head. Discover new talents. Writing, singing, painting, drawing. Something old or new. Anyway I know you can do this.
How are you today? 20 months! That’s amazing! Nothing is worth loosing that and nothing will be better by loosing it! Lean on your Higher Power and friends in Recovery. We are here for you!
I’ve been through that around the same time in my sobriety. Some like to call it the terrible 2’s. The cravings get so crazy all of a sudden and my mind and soul was restless. Lean on others and try and stay present and grounded. AA doesn’t like advice but I feel like I can comment because it feels like yesterday I went through that. And it was the year leading up to my 2nd birthday like clockwork. If I could get through it of course you can and I promise it does stop and get better.
i feel the same but 27 days… i’d get that into my veins so fast…
Hi Annabelle! I’m sorry you are goin mg through a rough patch right now. Do you have a sponsor or any friends to talk too? They help me get through the rough patches. I also find my hope and strength in Jesus Christ now.
I’ve learned it’s often best to do the opposite of what I want to do in moments like those. It will pass. One day at a time. I hope today is brighter for you!
I'm sorry you are feeling this way. Congratulations on 20 months! I know that for me feelings can be almost crippling sometimes, and I lean on God for comfort. I hope you feel better soon!
I’ve found it’s best not to make any serious decisions after 9pm much love hang in there
Hi. You did the right thing by reaching out here. I just celebrated 24 months and this will still happen where I wish I could go and sit at a bar and drink. But I stop and think about what good will it do. Ruin everything I have gained. My relationship with husband and daughter. More than that die the way my brother did. Not pretty to watch. So I reach out to my recovery team. Get on a meeting. Connect with people.
