Randy, I can remember them reaching three months and wondering the same thing., Everybody has different bodies and different minds and different underlying issues. If you planted the seeds but can’t see the flowers growing yet just them every day. For me, therapy, yoga, meditation, exercise and even medication may help you in your healing process.

Either way, Staying clean and sober for 50 days is a HUGE accomplishment and you should be proud of your efforts and give yourself kindness and thanks each day. If you do not feel ‘your best self’, I sympathize and understand.

As long as you are doing the work you need to do, I promise that you will feel the mental and emotional rewards of your sobriety increase as your brain starts to break old connections and thought patterns and make new ones. Every positive or negative thought we have changes the anatomy of our brains so please stay hopeful and “It doesn’t matter how slow you go, it just matters that you do not stop. (Mother Teresa).”

I’m sorry you’re not feeling the mental wellness or the rewards you’re seeking today - but I think you’re doing a great job and I would try to trust your process; I promise your mental sharpness and your mood and energy will all improve drastically over time.

Congrats on your day count and Message me if you want to talk more about it.

Post Accute Withdrawal Symptoms or PAWS for short. Look it up.

Hey Randy: Welcome and congratulations on 50 days. Personally, I went to get checked out by a psychiatrist, only to find out that I had MDD. I'm NOT saying that is what you have. We ALL get depressed from time to time. Strong emotions come up in recovery ; we're used to numbing them. Hit me up for support? Thanks!

My first year was rough! It gets better the longer you stay clean. I’m coming up on 5 years and I’m definitely grateful I have continued to stay clean!

Thank You
