I’m so sad, disappointed, and disgusted in myself. After 2.5

I’m so sad, disappointed, and disgusted in myself. After 2.5 years. I relapsed, 14mg xanax later I find myself in south beach Miami, I booked a flight from Austin Texas. Arrived Woke up after crashing hard in the afternoon once I got to my hotel in south beach. Not knowing where I was, and reading through AWFUL messages I sent to loved Ones. I find myself frustrated having to start ALL over again. Withdrawals are awful, flight back to Austin tomorrow. Feel like I have let myself down and obviously feeling very lonely. Time to get back on the wagon - addiction is powerful.

Hey brother! Try to not be too hard on yourself! You obviously know how to do this. You got this! Prayers for you.

You aren't truly starting over. You still have a foundation of sobriety. You are just starting again. You can do it .

Don’t beat yourself up! You made it 2.5 years, you know what it takes for prolonged sobriety. My advice is to stay focused on today and what you need to do to take that next step forward.

May I ask what your trigger was?

Went on a date with a girl who’s prescribed Xanax. Once I had access I was powerless.

What’s your DOC?

Xanax

I’m like 260 off of that. I was prescribed it as well. I didn’t get high on it. Well I don’t think I did. I was a drinker tho and on adderall prescribed. 1 drug to wake me up and 1 to put me to sleep. Big pharma!! I’m off everything now. :pray:t2:

The worst withdrawal is coming off of benzodiazepines and alcohol. 3 weeks of horror!

My anxiety is pretty much gone since I got off of the meds. Funny how that happens.

What happened with your date?

JOE , don't be so hard on yourself, its just time to start climbing again focus on yourself..Were Here..

Forgive yourself and get back up. The old saying “redouble your efforts” works well for those that relapse. Even when we are feeling stagnant we need to step it up. I’m sorry you had to take One on the chin but you can do this. Just don’t do it alone. :muscle::pray:t3:
