I’m starting the road to sobriety I last took shrooms Sunday I’m struggling really bad to convince myself not to buy more is there any advice someone can give me

Your drug of choice isn’t as important as figuring out what you’re trying to escape from.

A program of recovery such as NA could be a good place to start.

Breaking the physical addiction is the easy part for many of us. It’s what to replace it with that’s the hard part.

I may sound stupid but what is na

Narcotics Anonymous

It’s a 12 step program of recovery that focuses on people who are trying to stop using drugs.

Is it online or a place you go to

www.na.org

“First 90 days of sobriety” its a book on amazon for $10, really helped me dive deeper into why I drink/smoke

There’s reasons why I do it but I have a lot of poem books I read

Like Craig said check out NA or AA.. they are both twelve step programs with no dues or fees.
Get in where you fit in

:+1::hugs:

Narcotics anonymous, like alcoholics anonymous, however it deals specifically with drug addiction. However in narcotics anonymous alcohol is also considered a drug. I have found both fellowships to be open to anyone

You should probably also talk to a doctor about a possible detox from your D.O.C. if you were a regular user.

Hey Kyler! I experimented with shrooms, acid, ecstasy, etc…in my late teens and early 20’s. I thought it was enhancing my “creativity”. I suppose in some ways it was, but not in a healthy way. The side effects of tripping to expand my mind weren’t worth it. I think I was always searching for a more spiritual existence, and using drugs was the only way I knew how. I found much healthier ways to expand my consciousness. It started with getting sober through a 12 step program. I needed support to get off the alcohol and drugs. These programs are spiritual programs. As I got sober thru the 12 step program, I was able to connect with my personal higher power, and learn how to live a more spiritual life thru meditation, prayer (nothing like I learned as a kid), and other tools that I’ve picked up by listening to suggestions that felt right got for me. Bottom line is that I don’t need to check out of reality anymore. Actually, I can but without the horrible side effects of drugs. I can check in and out as needed throughout the day.

Are you staying present with us today Kyler?

Yes I still haven’t gave in

Willpower alone doesn’t get us very far. We need to align ourselves with something more powerful than we are.

You know how the moon has the power to control the oceans? But we can’t control the oceans. It’s kinda like that.

I gave in someone gave me misleading information
