I made the mistake of starting to smoke weed as i grew more comfortable with my sobriety. Weed isnt anything new to me, but as an addict, its a slippery slope. Now i didnt destroy my life all over, or do anything dumb, but I didnt really realize how long i kept using, how much money i was spending, or the hold it was taking on me. Thankfully giving up weed isnt anywhere near as hard as other drugs..and thats where it gets you. Im not just an alcoholic, im an addict, and temptation is all around.

Good for you to get that out my friend. They call that California sober at where I come from. But glad you are open enough to share about it. That’s halfway good for you.

Several years into my sobriety with alcohol I decided to do other drugs. Weed, mushrooms, MDMA, nitrous oxide. But I realized I prefer being completely sober. Mind altering drugs don't enhance my life in any way.
