I may be in the wrong support group, but here

I may be in the wrong support group, but here is my struggle.
One of my adult children is struggling with mental illness and alcohol. This adult child has tried 3 diffirent types of rehab. Only to return back to drinking. I have read books and done alot of research. If there is someone out there that may be able to provide any options. Please do. Thank you so much in advance.

Is he willing to go to AA?
I tried everything I could think of and finally found real solutions in AA.

Same. I tried treatments centres, medications, depending on people. I have been in AA for 2 years and I finally feel better about my life. Finally feel free from my mental health and addition.

Wont hurt to try that program for 30 days. And you dont have start sober to go.

If he is experiencing withdrawal symptoms he may need to go to a rehab so they can monitor his symptoms and help him get thru the first few weeks. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the both of you asking for help and guidance. Severe withdrawal from alcohol needs to be monitored. Once that is over and he is stable tell him to go to AA/NA and ask for help. Also getting a sponsor asap will help him in his early recovery. Good luck with everything. You both are in my prayers
