Ive been having the worst insomnia for the last week and now I have to work early and still cant sleep.
Magnesium helps
Zzyquil or melatonin are good options
Does alcoholism affect sleeping? I’ve been having a hard time sleeping lately
I found that my first night or two was hard to fall asleep when I first stop drinking but after that I was able to sleep but now find myself tired during the day.
I’m sure it messes with you just like any other substance. I went so long in active addiction not sleeping and I’ll have like 3-4 insomnia nights a month
The days where it all blurrs together
I wish I had the answer. I too suffer every night with proper sleep. I have faith that it won't be forever.Just hang in there its still way better than it was using.
Substance abuse and becoming sober completely messes with your sleep. It is normal for many to suffer with insomnia especially in the beginning.
Your brain’s healing, especially if you used to rely on something to fall asleep, or if you hardly got sleep.
One of the most effective ways to help your body sleep in sobriety is to create a nighttime routine. Your brain needs signals that it’s safe and time to wind down, things like turning off phoneg early, lowering lights, doing something calming (like journaling, stretching, or prayer), and going to bed at the same time each night. Movement during the day helps too. The more consistent you are, the more your body starts to relearn g to sleep naturally.
