I need a sober community and connection. I am not

A different AA group, smart recovery, a gym group, a cooking class, volunteering, meetup. Sober people are out there. It just takes time to rebuild that foundation.

I didn’t see this. It’s sort of the same but it’s more informal. I like them better.

I agree with you AA groups sometimes just don’t work. I developed a couple of hobbies, one was going to the gym more often. The other was working a animal shelter to walk dogs etc. Doing both has changed my life in a way that I don’t need drugs or drinks to get out of being bored with life

It took me 7 years to get a sponsor. Take your time. Slowbriety!

Quite often, like high school, it’s very clicky. Also, I’ve found that many, once they’ve tasted the power that soberity gives, an attitude of judging develops, brow beating and criticism happens. You simply just need to be patient and you’ll find your peeps.
