I’ve decided to fully commit to sobriety. I know to be successful in my first year and recovery in general I need a sponsor but I only do online meetings. Do people ever meet their sponsors online & is it normal to ask to be sponsored in a Zoom meeting?

MJ that’s great! AA is an amazing organization that helped millions of people maintain their sobriety, and if you have decided that you connect best with AA then yes, by all means start going to regular meetings and stick with the same “home” online group. There will typically be a moderator/ facilitator who you will be able to reach out to to tell you the process of obtaining a sponsor through that group. Also be aware that if AA turns out NOT to be for you, it is not your only option to be successful in recovery. You have other options. Best of luck, you got this!!!!

I sponsor on n off line, I do run some groups on Facebook and I always like to call n text whoever I sponsor and work the steps together.

I love meetings plan my day around one a day! I love being present, keeps me accountable.

It’s totally normal to ask to be sponsored in a zoom meeting. A sponsor is a sponsor. All we do is share our experience, strength, and hope with you and lead you through the 12 steps.
