I need advice from the sober folk!

I need advice from the sober folk! So my mom has 26 years of sobriety and I have six days after a relapse. Now she won't stop lecturing me and talking down in an almost condescending way. I've tried to set boundaries and asked her not to talk to me about sobriety unless I prompt the conversation. I understand that she knows a lot and that she's scared for her son, but being around her and listening to her makes me want to drink more than anything. Your thoughts?

Sometimes the people closest to us can be a cause of anxiety. I guarantee she means well.
She just loves her son and wants what’s best for him.
But just like the all the rest of us, she is an imperfect human being. Remember, your boundaries are important, and worth respect. I know lots of people with similar situations to yours who find solace and strength in Al-Anon.
Wishing you lots of love, and so proud of your six days

Maybe a step back and break from talking to her for now. If she won’t respect your boundaries, she isn’t respecting you. Like Michael said, I am sure she means well and is just scared. Maybe remind her of how she felt when she was where you are. Keep your head up. It will pass with time as all things do.

Sober or not some people are toxic to our journey. Distance from them is needed, until we can avoid the poison on our own. For some the tough lo e approach is how they Flourish, others it harms. Sounds like mom is a tough love person. You may need distance

Tell her. Her heart may be in the right place but her execution is making things worse. I'm sure she doesn't intend that.
