Well honestly it doesn't really matter what substance it is. Addiction is Addiction. I myself had a run with crystal as well. It took me about 2-3 weeks of not using to start to lose the urge to use. After that it was basically filling up my down time with work, AA/NA meetings, hobbies, exercising just to name a few but that is what helped get me started. Although for me I had a little help with some jail time for a possession charge.
Before that I had a struggle with opiates and had to go through detox and rehab. I think getting connected with people on here and in NA or AA will greatly help. There is a NA and AA meeting finder app on google play that will help you find a local meeting.
