I need help. Want to stop drinking. I am trying, but not succeeding.

Do you have insurance? I had to seek detox and rehab and it was the only thing that would get me through the first few days. I needed a wall between me and booze. The withdrawals are difficult and moreso dangerous alone. If you can, I would recommend finding a place that has a bed available and surrendering. It will give you a chance to clear your head and figure out what's next.

Go to an AA meeting. There will be someone there who can help you get to where you need to be

I second what both of the other post said. Best thing u could do is work a program. I tried doing it on my own & thinking I could control my drinking for 10 years. It could not be done. Best of luck to you. Keep your head up things get better.

Yes. If you don't have insurance, a lot of detoxes and rehabs have scholarships to help people who don't have the means. Someone at an AA meeting will know how to help you. It might seem daunting, but go, raise your hand when they ask if anyone is new and ask for help. You will immediately have a support system.
