I never thought I would go to AA and I

For me, I have learned that Success in Recovery comes from a few simple things:

  1. Always call your Sponsor (your new best friend)
  2. Never miss a meeting.
  3. Work your 12-steps (daily personal inventory)
  4. Repeat. (Because even though we left that life behind, the addiction remains with the mind/body… we will be addicts until our Savior redeems us)

It's great that you're acknowledging the need for help and considering attending meetings and finding a sponsor. Attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings and finding a sponsor can be very beneficial for many people who struggle with alcohol addiction.

AA is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other to support one another in their recovery from alcoholism. Meetings provide a supportive environment where members can share their struggles and successes in a non-judgmental setting. This can help you feel less alone and provide you with the motivation and encouragement you need to stay on track.

A sponsor is someone who has already gone through the AA program and can provide guidance and support as you work your way through the 12 steps of the program. They can be a valuable resource for accountability and help keep you focused on your recovery goals.

If you're considering attending AA meetings or finding a sponsor, it's important to find meetings in your area and connect with people who have experience with the program. There are also online meetings available if you're unable to attend in-person meetings. You can find more information about AA and how to get started on their official website.
