Hey guys, you read the title right, I overdosed about a week ago, I almost died, and I just need somebody to talk to before rehab, any kind words would be appreciated. Thank You

You are not your addiction and I am so incredibly grateful you are alive to seek help so you can grow and make changes in your life. Don't let the negative define you. I'm doing this for yourself, find your values as motivation for effective change. You can absolutely do this!

31 years ago I went to detox for 14 days then 5 months in a treatment center. I was going to die IF I didn’t surrender and dive into the program of Alcoholics Anonymous.
After treatment I went to a meeting everyday the first year. Sometimes twice a day. Never going under 3 per week.
I got a good sponsor and thoroughly worked all 12 steps.
Then I started working with other addicts and alcoholics.
Long term sobriety is available to each of us if We do the work.
Today I still go to meetings nearly everyday. I’m reading my BB daily. I’m still sponsoring women in the program. I have a God in my life that I pray to morning, noon and night.
Start by getting on your knees and asking God for help.
