I quit drinking because I felt miserable and lost. I’m an alcoholic. I have a progressive disease. I don’t want to find out what comes after miserable and lost.
Miserable and lost...and terrified. Yeah I don't want to find out either.
If we do the work, journal, participate, help others thru encouragement, and such… the constant pain is so busy it started to leave me. You are not alone! The road to recovery from my addiction took many good days and my life now is free from compulsion to use, but I do tell on myself when needed
From scared and lost to slowly getting addicted to sober days. Long journey
Ahhh, you don’t want to find out what comes after being miserable and lost? Can give you a clue….life!
It’s honestly a simple concept that gets interrupted by urges. If we drink it feels good for a little bit, but the guilt, shame, remorse, and negative feelings are way too overwhelming to compensate for a tiny bit of an escape❤️
Go to meetings and help yourself.it will not get better.
I’m sober. I said I don’t want to know what happens after miserable and lost.
Exactly
And get a sponsor who has worked the 12 Steps.
I found out what is after miserable and lost and it almost took me. It killed parts of me that will never be the same.
I’m sorry to hear that Kevin.
It's okay, I learned what I needed to about myself. I may have some broken pieces but I still love me!!

Great choice Wedad! I recommend not exploring the next steps in anyone’s drinking career. I had to learn the hard way! And not just once but many times. Our disease is real. And the great thing is we have a solution! Work the Steps and spiritual program of Alcoholics Anonymous! Without me getting into this program I wouldn’t have made it this far in sobriety… plus I’m way more open minded then every before.
Let’s not!
Thanks Calene
Right on.
Great attitude Kevin Curry
It sure is Calene
