i realize that in sobriety we MUST do It for ourselves because if we do it for others and they let us down, or they don't acknowledge our sobriety, Or don't give us a pat on the back, or they upset us Or throw our mistakes in our face, Then we go right back To our addiction because then we'll say I was doing it for you and you don't care, i was doing it for you and you just throw my mistakes in my face, or accuse me of using and im not i midest will use, no we must do it for ourselves then evryone we love will reap the benefits from it starting with us onside, and we cant expect other to understand something that we dont understand (addiction) Is ourselves, so good luck You have people standing behind

So true. In my past failed attempts, it was to save my marriage, for my kids….. I had to truly start to love myself again and care about my own well being before the miracle could start to happen.

My daughter said do it for your kids do it for your grandsons I said I can do it for myself. Worst day of my life haven't talked her 5 months

Mario, you nailed it. Doing this for anyone but ourselves just sets us up to get crushed when they don’t show up how we hope. When we own it for us, we stay solid no matter what anyone else says or does.
