I’m taking a year off dating. I didn’t do that when I officially stopped the first time. Felt like I was ready after a couple of months sobriety and ended up slipping. I now see why they suggest a year of sobriety first. I’m committed this time.
I’m right there with you, Sherry. Single & mentally unable to mingle.

OK that made me laugh out loud:star_struck:
Good luck I know actually what you’re going through. I’m going through a divorce and it sucks. Thank god I’m staying sober.
I’M SO GLAD. Humor helps!!
Divorce is rough! Kudos for being so brave and keeping sober.
hang in there.
If you need to talk I’m available
Sherry: You're 3 hours from the next MIRACLE day!! You did A LOT of wonderful/productive things today, more than me, in fact. But WE both didn't use/drink today! Thank-you for sharing your recovery with US.
Hoping you are hanging in there ok.. god bless you
Hang in there and keep it one hour at a time. Just remember don’t make a relationship your higher power.
Ask yourself….how is drinking at any capacity going to improve your situation?? Most likely not….you’ll feel lots better tomorrow….promise….
Think about the consequences and is it worth it.
Alcohol is trying to feed you the BIG LIE; That this time, things will be OK. But they never are, are they? When you are thinking about or at least craving a drink you have to learn to play the scene all the way through. You may feel good for a while but what will be the result?
You will have to start all over from right where you are at. You will probably have a nasty hangover when you wake up, if you wake up at all and you will still have to deal with everything that you are feeling right now.
This is why it is so important to get to AA meetings and be around people who know what we're going through and have recovered.
Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path! Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program. Usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves.
