I really need someone to talk me out of texting my ex. I messed up his life and trust bc I relapsed, but I still love him and miss him. And all I want to do is pick up the phone and just talk to him
Only you know what's right for you...I'm sorry your going through this.
Good evening Brooke,
Focus on your sobriety. We must show them we love ourselves first by showing up for ourselves. Stay sober my friend
He doesn’t need to hear your intentions for improvement. He needs to see your actions. So work your program. Live your sober life. Give him the time and space he needs.
I am going through this on the opposite side of yours. My ex is in treatment. I gave her every opportunity to turn it around and got burned at every chance. Action is the only thing that can mitigate the damage your using created. If you do contact him refrain from making I and me statements. Continue in your sobriety and maintain your focus. Relationships are very difficult. They require discipline and commitment. Working the steps will help you to build your foundation and gain some principles and personal integrity. The highway to hell was paved with good intentions. Good luck.
My ex cheated with a guy in the small town we live in. I asked my sponsor to give me permission to tell his wife. Naturally, he “advised against it”.
I would suggest putting someone in between you two. When/ if there is a time to speak to him, get the okay from that person first.
Again, I recommend a sponsor.
I really need a woman in my life too, someone to love
and share my life with.
Thanks everyone, I caved and text me at 10pm. Still no response. It is now 230 and he hasn't responded all day, so I'm giving him his space and working my recovery. Just really hard when you love someone and are used to sleeping next to them every night and talking all throughout the day
I go to meetings every day, pray to God that You find a way through this! Talk to a female friend or sponsor about this. You are not alone God will help You threw this!!
My gf needed space in May. Moved out and got her own apartment. It’s hard as hell. It gets lonely for sure but who am I to tell her what is best for her. I’m not going to drink because I can’t control someone. I tried that for years and it didn’t go well.
I've been strong, no drinking but crying all the time. Crying is better
