I talk about my sobriety openly with my friends and coworkers, there’s some that understand and some that don’t. This is a stigma that needs to be changed. There’s no shame in having a disease.. an allergy to alcohol if you will. Being loud about it helps remind me of my past but also what I’m doing to make a positive change in my life. Hats off to all those that have years and also those who only have a few days. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Maybe it's the setting you are in?
I’ve made a lot of changes as far as my surroundings when it came to my sobriety. Left me with a pretty empty life since everyone I know still drinks but it’s ok I’ve gotten used to it. I’ve only gotten happier since I got sober so in a way I don’t really mind if some people don’t understand

Love that you see purpose in being open about your sobriety! It is a disease that often comes with so much shame.. I tend to be more selective with who I talk about it with but something I hope over time will become a fearless matter of fact!
