I relapsed after 5 months , talk about feeling bad🤦🏿♀️ Gosh this feeling has to be the worst😕
I can relate as many people in recovery can but don't beat yourself up. I relapsed after 10 years and now I have a little over 3 years of sobriety. You can do this you are worth it. Gratitude is attitude. Do outreach work and volunteering it will help your recovery tremendously by giving back to others. And it will build your self worth and your confidence and self esteem.
Thank you so much, I appreciate your reply and input it helps:pray:t5:
Hey Trina, don't live in those negative feelings. Work through them and allow them to be your motivation on your sober journey. Many blessings to you!
That’s still five months! That’s a long time! I’m still proud of you.
It sucks cuz living in those feelings keeps one feeling worst and drinking more, thank you!
Yes it was a long time and I guess that’s why it feels so bad
The fact that you’re on this forum talking to us speaks volumes. It’s incredibly brave.
I totally understand what you’re going through. The shame, guilt and remorse can be very difficult to feel. I believe these feelings are our intuition telling us that we are not supposed to drink ever again. Now that I can listen to my body and mind, I can begin to make better choices. Hang in there, this will pass. However if it doesn’t then I’d suggest a 12 step program such as Alcoholics Anonymous. May need to visit underlining issues from the past… I hope you feel better soon. Prayers with you.
As bad as a relapse, feels it isn't the end. It is just a short speed bump.
I appreciate your kind words!
Yes your right, I have been attending AA online meetings but no Sponsor yet, it’s hard accepting this truth about myself but since coming to the understanding that I may suffer from this we call
Alcoholism it’s been so hard to accept, but I’m learning and just have to do better , thanks for you words of wisdom..
Oh trust and believe Trina I most definitely relate, was just feeling exactly how you are 2 weeks ago. But then I put myself out there vented my feelings, got some great advice and realized that I need to work through and eventually let go of those negative feelings and thoughts, stop beating myself up and push through because I was tired of being tired and I really want sober living and I'm finally willing to put in the work. Working through the negative can get messy but it's totally worth it.
You’re human. It happens. You have five months sober and that’s great ! Consider this a learning experience and learn from it. Healing is not linear and essentially we are trying to heal ourselves. It’s messy and it takes time. Give yourself some grace and get back on track!
I appreciate you so much, I truly do, as I take my last little sip of this wine I know I got to get back on track, it’s hard because wine was my best friend, but to know it’s not really my best friend has been a hard pill to swallow, thank you so much for taking time out your day to encourage me:pray:t5:
