I remember back in the the mid 90s I

I remember back in the the mid 90s I was a teenager I went to school and I was receiving a $100 a month from welfare and I had to pay $40.00 in rent so that left me wit $60.00 amonth but I was a smoker in the union wit my get high buddy's and I contribute $10.00 a month just in case I don't have any money I can still smoke fa the rest of the month that was the plan
So that left me with $50.00 a month then I need tokens to get around town I spend $20.00 on token a month looking for a job while on the jogging getting high with my buddy till I land one than I really can get high
That lead me to have $30.00 amonth then it came to everybody wanna go out after sneaking sneaking in a game for burgers at the restaurant that's $1.00 menu was available then I spend $5.00 that leave me wit $25.00 a month then I need a hair cut I couldn't afford it all the time so I brought some clippers and start experimenting that was $15.00 so that left me wit $10.00 dollars
Then I wanted to impress a money hungry female with $5.00
To replenish the stock that was a lot of money coming from where i come from $40.00 for rent 1/8 of it low income so after tooth paste and socks and save a few dollars to add up for jeans or a shirt or something I had to really find me employment 2 years later I did only to be ungrateful for a while after I got better for a moment and said im getting high I might as well hustle till I found recovery in 2002 and now it's like well money is way better rent is more expensive I have a lifestyle I love jft without the uses of drugs and just for today I don't have to impress a female with what I have I can impress her wit the ability to the way I can serve her wit 20 years in recovery it always feels like I'm just getting started cause I never lived in this day today and I'm excited to start living in it my higher power bless me to get this far now I'm just going to say at a birth age of 45 I love it even though I out lived a lot of folks in my immediate family they got to see and here I'm an advocate in and about recovery
So keeping that in mind grounds me just one more day
I know my read is length but just felt like typing for those that like a good read and to learn something about a guy from Chicago name Kevin and his experience strength and hopes in recovery until next time live well and be in of service if you can be !
