I ruined the best thing that ever happened to me yesterday because I couldn’t control my drinking. I wasn’t drinking everyday, so I didn’t think I had a problem. But when I did, it was 0-100 and couldn’t control it or stop. I let it get the best of me. I put myself in a horrible situation, my kids, the love of my life and I probably lost him for good. How do you move on.. does the pain and frustration ever stop? I know alcohol is the first thing that needs to go. Not worth it anymore.
I recently had a similar situation when I broke trust with my husband of 2 weeks by sneaking alcohol from on top of a cabinet I climbed on that my daughter who is 6 told him I did. I was not proud of it and he that day just agreed to start trying for another baby which is now off the table. I felt like I ruined everything over something stupid and felt gross. You aren't alone and you aren't a bad mother. We are here for you
First off… breath! Second great job realizing you need help! And third be general with yourself. Now is not the time to beat yourself up. I never hit rock bottom, the bottom came up and hit me. I also almost lost my kids, wife, job… but I showed them I was serious about making a change in my life and was committed to sobriety, and I was lucky. Broken relationships can be repaired, but don’t try to fix things right away. You need you get yourself well first. Fixing comes later. The steps are in the order they are for a reason. Lots of talking needs to happen. Get to a program like AA and start working it. I hope it all works out for you
Thank you. I hope your situation gets better as well, and that you find the comfort needed too.
Forgive yourself first. Seek guidance from God or whomever you consider your higher power. For me that is Jesus. Best of luck on your journey
