One of my favorite #sermons that my #dad used to preach was about the #prodigalson (Luke 15).
The most touching point my dad always made was from Luke 15:20 (ESV)
“And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.“
My dad would read this passage of scripture and say, “brethren, you don’t see someone afar off, unless you’re looking for them!” #truth
How many days, how many months, how many years had that father been waiting for his son’s return?
We aren’t told.
All we are told is that the father remained watchful, hopeful for his son to return.
And when he finally spotted him a long way off, the father ran to meet him and crowned him with earthly wealth.
An undeserving son. A loving father.
That’s us.
That’s our #god.
Patiently waiting.
Watching.
Hopeful for our #reconciliation with Him through #christ.
God ran to meet me. I SAW God run.
