I stop at same Starbucks every morning and spend time with a homeless guy that uses this location as his living room. He has a serious drinking problem and is looking worse everyday! I don’t preach to him ever but I do talk about how much happier I am sober. I couldn’t imagine those times I’d have to lie to myself in the mirror that I don’t look awful! I would always ask myself what are you doing? Now I can look and see my gains from working out 6 days a week and calming the noise with meditation every morning before I go out into the world.. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink. Good on you for even paying attention to this guy and sharing the message. Who knows he may end up finally listening, getting a job and into a shelter, and rebuilding his life. You may have saved a life.
Maybe ask him if he wants a copy of the big book. Good for you for not looking the other way
