I struggle everyday and it’s not a craving for alcohol it’s remembering what I put myself through!

Be gentle with yourself. That embarrassment, fear, anger… it has to be let go. Looks like you have time under your belt. Don’t look backwards, you are not going that way.

What I put myself through doesn’t bother me really, some of it embarrasses me, some of it shocks me I’m still alive, what does bother me is what I put everyone else through! With that said, we can’t become prisoners of the past. Those are lessons to learn from. We can, from now on, try to be the best human being we can be! :v:t3::sunglasses:

Relating. Really feeling awful today for stress I put others through.

Deciding how to handle responding to whether or not I will attend my cousin s milestone birthday. I want to and he helped find out which Uhm, facility I was in after a dui few years ago.

I have work the night of his milestone party which is out of town. I have a legitimate reason for not attending … while I pretty much said yes immediately…one b c I sincerely respect him.

While I also do not want to miss work that night ( working the show of favorite musician ).
Once in a lifetime, opportunity, experience.

I am rambling b c I keep thinking ; how can I miss his birthday party?
( post the dui, he / his wife did trust me to house, pet sit which helped me take on some responsibility ).

He did so much for me.
While I also do not want to respond and purely from guilt.
Am I making sense?
Feel silly bringing this up. Just memories of what I put others through ( and myself ) are intense tonight. I am providing one example.
Grateful for y’all.

Absolutely !! I'm still early days but at the beginning I watched so much tv and listened to audio books but I'd get 1 thing done and before long I'd get 2 things done ... trust the process
