I talked to my sponsor for a routine daily talk,

I talked to my sponsor for a routine daily talk, He decides to tell me he will evict me for the way I look and dress he said the diamond earrings had to go my platinum pendant my shoes my personal style, the people in this particular area a few seem to think and have shared with my sponsor that I am doing the wrong thing by dressing a certain way like it's the old me and so many others are supportive of the person I'm becoming. And I took my earings out and put away my clothes and changed my look for my sponsor like he asked, I told him about my relationship I was having and told me I had to break it off and I did last night, I cried and it freaking hurt my soul and he turned that around on me and used that to say I lied to him etc! I feel I'm having my identity taken away. And I have a friend that is a women that I helped by meeting her at a meeting that had a female speaker and a few people said I was sleeping with her and that's not ever been the case My sponsor also said that I was being a SL*! by doing these things. He told me women work with women and men with men, I thought the hand of AA was there to help all those in need: I care about him like a father. I've never had this feeling of just dang I don't know what to do in my mind and he supervises me it's only a few months away to get the court satisfied and this situation is like it gives him power over what I do how I look what I can do how to do it and I know he has my best interest in mind but it feels like he is over doing it and over stepping his boundaries with me.

Your sponsor sounds like he is micro managing you and you are right to be uncomfortable with that. It also sounds like he runs you over so maybe the best approach to speaking to him about this issue would be a letter or a text. Sometimes conversations don’t always go the way we plan and we don’t get to say what we intended, with a letter there is no interruption plus you get to “think before you speak.” Your sponsors can’t hold you hostage nor should they want to, a good sponsor truly wants what’s best for you, even if that means it’s time to switch sponsors. Communication is underrated. Best of luck!
