I teach second grade and I just finished my first full week back to school. My kids are four and five so when I get home I’m still on duty especially as a single mom. My kids were tired and being cranky last night which added to the stress . The cravings were real but I sat with them and distracted myself until they went away. And then I went to bed early because last night was tough. Working with kids and raising kids is TOUGH am I right moms and dads??
I was a single dad of three for two and a half years…yeah I hear ya! I unfortunately lost custody but that’s a whole other story…hahahaha I’ll tell you about it sometime if you’d like
Keep up the good work
Yes, I’m also a teacher and single mama. My youngest is 18 and they had to deal with the ups and down of my addiction. I dealt with the stress with alcohol too. You’re making a change when they are young, which will give you more authentic time with them. Keep up the great work and being strong and reaching out. You will be so glad you did!
I work with special needs K-1 and I am a single mom of 3 kids 10, 8 and 4!! This first week of work was no joke it was crazy!! And then I’m mom! I don’t even get the break on my way home from work cause 2 of my kids go to the school I work at! Lol it is tough but you recognize it so that’s great!! Always feel free to reach out
Stay strong. The fight for yourself is also a fight for your kids. They are so lucky to have a mom who loves herself enough to get clean and sober. You rock Amber.
I’m a single dad. Mine are 9 and 11. They’ve seen me at my worst. Now they get me for real.
Yes it is tough but definitely worth it. Best of luck on your journey
That’s a plateful ... awesome job. Grace(by definition)! O2-28-2OO2
Thank you everyone

Damned you got a tough job. You and nurses are on the front line now. Do your best to stay safe from this crap going around.
Yeah it's definitely not easy but doing the right thing goes a long way. I find getting good sleep, going to bed early, eating well, all of that goes a long way to help me be less affected by the things happening around me.
My level of peace and serenity is directly proportional to the amount of acceptance I have for the things going on around me. In fact acceptance is one of the best solutions for my sobriety. Pg 417 in the book. I read it when I need to chill and realize I have no control over any person, place, or thing in my life and everything is exactly the way it's supposed to be at this moment in time.
