I used to dread the weekends in my early days

I used to dread the weekends in my early days of recovery! ⁣

It was sooooo hard walking past all those bars watching people laughing and hanging out, drinking and having fun, while I felt ashamed, resentful, and embarrassed. I hated the fact that those people could still drink and “have fun” and I couldn’t. ⁣

I thought my life was 𝙤 𝙫 𝙚 𝙧. ⁣

What ended up happening was — I met a community of some really bad ass people, who also didn’t drink alcohol and who were doing bad ass things that I always wanted to do but couldn’t because I was too busy getting wasted! ⁣

They instantly put me under their wings and taught me invaluable life lessons on how to stay away from the sauce - one day at a time. ⁣

And you can totally have that too!! All you need is a desire to stop and the willingness to follow some new directions. It’s not “easy” but it’s totally fcking worth it. :sunglasses:

Feel free to message me if you’re struggling!! You’re not alone!

Badass Shauna. How long have you been sober? How did you do it? Share some experience strength and hope for the newcomers
