I’ve been drinking every night since my dad passed away unexpectedly on October 30 and I don’t want to keep doing this but it hurts so much
Hey Mary , so sorry about your dad . I know when your hurting all u want to do is numb the pain and drink , hang in there and reach out
Sending my condolences. I'm here for support. Love you
I'm so sorry for your loss.
My best friend passed away nov 28 when we thought she had at least 2 good Years left. We had made so many plans together and the news was gut crushing and I could easily find my way to numb the pain with alcohol but I found that I would lose the connection I had to her aswell. The absolute best thing for me has been meditation. I can feel her, I can hear her, I can see her and she sends me little gifts when I need her the most (like birds that get me excited like a little kid) It's still a struggle not having her here but the blessing to connect with her still is absolutely amazing.
When your desperate and ready to try something new try meditation. I hope this helps.
I also read the book the book "The Light After Death: My Journey to Heaven and Back" before she passed that has helped me in more ways than I can explain.
Oh my gosh I’m so sorry for your loss. Hang in there. Message me if you need someone to talk to.
Mary, I feel that! Good for you for reaching out so soon. It’s been 11 months since my Dad passed and I’m just reaching out now.
I’m so sorry to hear that your going through this … I have had a lot of loss in life my fiancé my father and a sick else parent. Alcohol seems like the answer but it solves nothing .
I am back at day 1 so I can’t say that I am an expert but therapy might be a good option .
Mary, I’m so sorry to hear this. There is no easy way to handle something like that. I hope you are doing better….
Loss is so hard! Just seek help. Call a therapist. There are programs for grief and outpatient programs that can help you get sober. There is always rehab even if you feel your not that severe of an alcoholic many are now focusing on both mental wellbeing and sobriety. You can do it. Definitely reach to some programs. You deserve to heal.
