The dreams can be vivid. But focus on how relieved you are when you wake up and realize that it was only a dream. I know I have even felt shame while doing it in the dream. You are doing the right thing. Talk about it.

Try to disengage and focus on calming your mind…. Relaxation, meditation… easier said than done but just give it your best shot!

Hello Elena, those dreams must be a bummer. I know for me sometimes I have a hard time telling dreams from reality for a. Hour or two. But recently I've realized that the benefits I was seeking with my drug of choice were all illusions, so there isn't any reason to weigh good vs bad, because there is no good aspect to using. I am much happier now, and clean.

"Baseball players dream about baseball..."
They're just thoughts, and WE don't have to act on them.

I went through the dream phase too, I think we all have them at some point. Wake up drenched in sweat...

Just gotta hold on.

We call those drunk dreams, and they are normal.

Watch out for believing the big lie; got this time, everything will be okay. But it never is, is it?

Picking up a drink is a big lie. We need to learn to play the scene forward. What happens if you pick up a drink? You might feel great for a little while, but sooner or later, you will be right back where you are right now having to struggle all over again, carrying around more shame, realizing that you accomplished absolutely nothing.

The program of Alcoholics Anonymous is the 12 steps of aa. They were designed by alcoholics for alcoholics to transform Our Lives. If you get into the 12 Steps, the promises of AA will start to come true in your life like they have in mind. You don't have to struggle, and you certainly don't have to ever drink again.

The promises start to happen in our lives sometime in the middle of making our men's to others in Step 9.

I’m 8 months sober, have vivid dreams all the time…but then I realize they are just dreams. I think about them and remember how miserable I was and remember why I’m getting sober.
