I’ve been trying to get sober from alcohol for 5

I’ve been trying to get sober from alcohol for 5 years now. Whew what a journey. Today is officially day 1 for me and if I slip again I lose my wife and my kids which would devastate me. Unfortunately I had to let it get to that point to realize I am a true problem drinker and I need complete abstinence for good.

I start at Lionrock Recovery tomorrow as well, it’s an at home Intensive Outpatient rehab. I feel good this time around though. Much more confident than ever before, I have to though as I WILL NOT lose my family over a stupid demon liquid. Wishing you all the best in your journeys. Can’t wait to meet the new me myself!

Wishing you all the best in your recovery. Please know that a relapse usually means there is something wrong with your method, not with you. So whatever didn’t serve in the past needs adjustment. Right now I’m doing well with this app and books by Allen Carr and Annie Grace, but should I trip my next step will be to try AA. Its super important that you trust in and are exited about your outpatient program. Have faith in the process, and enjoy the journey. Keep reaching, you’ll get there!

Troy and Nadja, amazing and welcome!! My suggestion is to try everything you can and see what moves you. Sober life is worth the discomfort of getting it. Don’t wait for a slip to add the next layer of recovery. Build your program to meet your needs.

Lionheart has great success. So do so many programs. You can go to all modalities. You can scrapbook together what works for you. Make it for you.
