I’ve been up 23 hours. Any advice to beat insomnia?
I was up for 3 days once when I got sober. I felt crazy dude. What are you off of and how long has it been?
I’ve quit drinking almost 2 years ago. I still have those nights where I just can’t sleep. I don’t think it is caused by alcohol anymore, but I am afraid to take anything to help because… well… hi I have addictive personality disorder. My dad tells me to just take some zquil or something. I can’t risk it.
There non addictive self aids. I have a sleep disorder due to tbd work I did as an IT professional.
I take one as needed.
AFK you doctor.

My other suggestions are to try supplements like Wulinshen by Nature Restore or Melatonin, but it has to be the dissolvable tabs. Vitamin Shoppe and Source Naturals both make one (regular capsules just don’t work nearly as well).
What is keeping you up exactly? Are you unable to clear your mind? Reading a book does wonders for that. You must get off the computer and phone an hour before you want to go to sleep.. the light tells the brain that it’s day time and won’t allow you to become tired.
Having a nighttime routine is also helpful. Make sure the environment is relaxing and a couple hours before bed, start moving slower to kind of lead your body into it.
A heating pad has done wonders for me. I put it on my shoulders or lay my calves over it and sometimes that’s all it takes. Other nights, nothing seems to work but I also fight it
I have similar issues after 2+ years. I’m honest with my doctor and trust him. I take meds as prescribed. He know my history and keeps tabs on me. Yes, I am taking meds, but I’m also sleeping well. I fear sometime we try to purge all drugs when in reality we might need them as prescribed.
I know how it is, I had night terrors for awhile, I am on meds for PTSD. It took a min. My Doc finally got it right. Today makes 360 days for me,nothing happens in God’s world by mistake,
Typos. There are non addictive sleep aides.
….Ask your doctor.

Insomnia is totally real… Something that has helps me are guided sleep meditations. There’s lots of great apps out there, I use Insight Timer:)
