I’ve been wanting to summarize my experience so you guys

I’ve been wanting to summarize my experience so you guys can better get to know me and roughly what I have been through. Here is what I came up with:

I was in a head on car accident in 1999. I was 20 years old. I’m seriously lucky to still be alive after that. I was charged with 2 DUI’s with serious bodily injury (because 2 people got hurt-the guy with me and the guy in the other car)
I was placed on House arrest for a year followed by 9 years of probation. I completed the house arrest and I was on my second year of probation and I violated probation with another DUI. This led me to getting sentenced to 4 years in prison. I went to prison, and got out in 2007. I ended up getting ANOTHER DUI in 2008. The DUI charge (miraculously) was a misdemeanor and I got slapped in the wrist. This was my FOURTH DUI!! This was AFTER I had spent 4 years locked up for DUI’s and being a convicted felon. I have no idea how that happened-but it did. I continued to drink after that.
I got married in 2010, stayed sober for 5 years and decided to drink again and that led me to where I am now. I’ve been on and off the wagon for years but something inside of me has changed and I AM READY to get better!!! I know for a fact that I am a miracle and God has given me so many chances to get my shit together. I feel like I should not have had that many chances. There were so many times I should have been dead or sent to prison for the rest of my life. Not only that, I even have my drivers license still!

Talk about miracles! Your the text book definition of that word. Gotta feeling you don’t have any chances left. God’s most definitely put his foot down this time around. Give up that will. Let him take over. Works all the time. Feel that story. You’re in the right place. Meetings?

Wow. That is a list of gratitude right there. Keep working on this . Your story and sobriety could really be inspiring others to get and stay sober.

Wow. Such an adventure, and the best is yet to come. I, too, had that same "out of nowhere" gut feeling/indtinct and my mind has been clear w no chance of looking back. Now, if I could just get my mind to magically lose 10 more pounds from my body, that would be fantastic! Cheers

I also escaped countless brushes with disaster, death and prison and evaded everyone. Part of it was being a master manipulator and liar but also just dumb luck. I sometimes think things might have gone better if I had been busted a decade earlier, but thankful to be sober today. It’s easy sometimes to think our problems aren’t that bad when we dodge the consequences… I know that’s what I thought. It sounds like you know what you need to do. Good luck.

Hi Jennifer! Appreciate you getting real with us. You certainly qualify to be here with all of us other sickos lol. That’s the great thing about us, we understand and can relate to you. What normal person is going to listen to that story and nod their head like they understand? That’s just one of the many reasons I love meetings. I’m glad to hear you are going to them and that you have a sponsor. The amazing thing is that there is a beautiful solution to our problem. It doesn’t matter how you got here. What matters is what you do today. I’m happy for you. Keep up the good work :peace_symbol:
