I’ve made it almost 72 hours without a drink! It’s probably the longest I’ve gone without in over a year. I thought the withdrawal would be awful but it actually hasn’t been that bad. Drinking every day has done nothing but make me even more physically and mentally sick than I already was and know that if I don’t stop now it will end up killing me. There is power in prayer, and although you may not know me, I’m asking others to please pray for me.
Better you pray for yourself. And let that higher power guide you. Welcome and great job on those 3 days. Glad you not going through the usual withdrawals. That’s a blessing in itself. Think your higher power is already helping you. Just don’t use and this new you will blossom
Keep it up, each day, each hour is an opportunity for good. You can do this!
Congrats! Keep the positive thoughts going. If you haven’t started a program I would suggest looking into one. The support and fellowship you will find will just help boost those vibes.
The day I believed that I would die or hurt myself was the day I submitted to being powerless and accepted help. What you just said is very important and I believe in you!! I don’t have to know you to believe in the power of the human soul. Congrats on your achievements!! I couldn’t get through a day and my withdrawals where terrible but once I got help and understood the way I could have spirituality in my life without being “religious “ it allowed me to be over 5 years sober as I write this to you.
Thank you for the encouraging words
Hey Kristen, it's a tough road but worth the effort. You need support. You can try AA, Smart recovery, refuge and recovery Dharma. Whatever works for you. It is doable and you can do it. It will get better I promise. Reach out anytime
Keep focused on what you want. Ask yourself what did drinking truly do for me. If you have answers to that does the good out weigh the bad? And remind yourself that you did these 72 hours so way not make it more. Everyone is behind you. Keep going.
