There's a saying we see In rehab... time is the one thing we can never recover. But you got plenty of it in front of you , more than most of us. That's such a plus. Once u grind thru this early period of sobriety everything will become more clear. Your gonna b just fine.
It.sounds like to me that you still feel like you have some power over how much, when, and what happens when you drink. I felt like that for a long time.
I needed every drop i ever drank to realize the truth:
I can NEVER drink safely again.
I wish you well. But the sooner you realize you are powerless, the sooner you can recover.
Please be safe. And ask for help. I owe it to you.
I owe everyone else who freely gave what they were given
WE ADMITTED, we were powerless.....
...
Wow! No wonder going the hospital route was a bad experience. I couldn’t image. I recently got out of the hospital (4th time) and thank God the doctors and nurses were kind, compassionate and nonjudgmental. Very instrumental in my new look at sobriety.
For once I feel like I am going to be sober for me and not for family friends or anybody else.
Doctors told me if I don’t stop I will die.
Keep up the good, hard work.
You got this!
The only reason I feel any amount of control over how much I’m drinking while tapering off is because I know it’s a means to an end. I’ve already made my peace with the fact that I’m done with alcohol. Logically, I know it’s safer to taper off as opposed to going cold turkey. These last few weeks have scared the sh*t out of me. I know I am powerless when it comes to alcohol.
