I want to make friends in recovery in the real world off-line, but I also don't want people messing me up at the same time. I know how people can be in some of those rooms... Anyway, how do you be protective, but not so protective that you end up isolating like I have
It'd be nice to have friends in the real world again that also understand, but maybe I just need new friends that dont have the same problems as me? I dont know.. what do yall think? Has anyone experienced this dilemma before?

I think it’s a dilemma a lot of us face. My .02 is go to mostly women’s meetings. That’ll keep your life simple and trouble free in the rooms. Get a sponsor that has some good sobriety time, and also has quality sobriety. Surround yourself with women that are truly working a program of recovery. If you work at it, you can find what you’re looking for. There are lots of ladies looking for exactly the same thing
