I was 21 days and I slipped up I was so proud of myself and now I just want to disappear pretend my life doesn’t exist i know I’m supposed to be forgiving to myself but I’m truly just so upset.

We have all been where you are, and yes it feels horrible. Keep this feeling with you as a memory that you don’t want to feel again, when next time you falter between drinking or not. “Play the tape forward to the end” I learned this in rehab and it has been very helpful to me. We are all either going to do this, or completely waste our lives. For me it was me losing my job because of alcohol, my family lovingly talking behind my back about it, my son constantly catching me hiding, or lying about alcohol,And the complete look of betrayal, frustration, and pain in his eyes. This was too much to bare. , When I drink, the story simply doesn’t end well……I want a better story. Love yourself, forgive yourself and get right back on it:pray::heart:

Well, you’re not dead so at least you got that going for you. It happens. Get over it. Get replugged in. It didn’t work last time. Now make it work this time. Change. At least you’re admitting you frucked up to others which is a huge step. It means you’re not done trying. Now buckle down and start “working” a program. Find meetings to hit in your area or zoom. When you want to use again raise your hand or let someone know. The world will come to your call with help. And by all means, get a higher power. Could be anything or anyone. Just something more powerful than you that you can turn too in times like these. You did 21, now try for more. We all been where your at. It’s no big deal with lots of time on your side waiting to be had. Welcome back. You’ll always be a welcome site if you truly want a new life. You’ve at least reached out again which lets everyone know you still in this game of life and wanting to live. Embrace change.

That’s amazing you did 21 days I don’t even have that. It’s not how hard you fall it’s how hard you get back up. We learn the most from mistakes. Think about what thought processes led to this then try something new to get past it.

A slip isn't the end of the world. To quote one of the sober stories, "if you knock over a salt shaker, you don't throw the whole thing away. You pick it up. There is still salt in it, you only spilled a little." You still got plenty of recovery left in you to keep going.

Thank you for sharing! You still have those 21 days of sobriety just not continuous. I have to tell myself to stay out of the past. It’s gone. Stay out of what might happen it’s not here. Live right now in this moment. It’s not easy I get it. Try it for today. Live in each moment and see how it feels. Really tap into ones inner self…. You got this! Life is blissfully beautiful!

Think of life as an adventure.
